Amber E. Witherby, Ph.D.
Dr. Amber Witherby (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She specializes in research on metacognition, study strategies, and online learning. She earned her Ph.D. from Texas Christian University in 2019.
Dr. Witherby’s research focuses on self-regulated learning and factors that influence learning and memory. She examines how people think about and monitor their learning, including the decisions they make while studying. She investigates basic questions regarding the mechanisms underlying these processes as well as applied questions regarding how to enhance learning in the real world.
Dr. Witherby is also interested in understanding how metacognitive processes operate across the lifespan. She mentors undergraduate students in research and teaches courses in Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, and Introductory Psychology.
